Midi skirt; day & night

Midi length skirts are very elegant, sophisticated and women have been wearing them for centuries ! They project power but are yet very feminine !! You may be tempted to only wear them on special occasions but I think they can easily be worn for any occasion !!! Here are two ways to wear the midi length skirt; a casual day look and a more chic version !

When you think casual you may not think of skirts, let alone midi length ones !!! Perhaps some girls think skirts are overrated !! But I think they are underrated ! I love skirts !! They are sexy, feminine, elegant and playful. Easy to wear and so versatile. Different shapes, lengths, fabrics, colours.

Navy and all shades of blue are taking over in my closet !! Definitely one of my new favorite colours to wear this summer, so when I saw this structured, navy blue skirt, I just couldn’t resist !! Plus it has pockets !!! What a wonderful, ingenious idea !!! It adds so much character. I’m definitely a pocket loving kinda girl !!! The textured fabric is also a big plus here as it really gives the final touch to the perfect midi skirt ! I could think of a multitude of tops to pair the skirt with but I ended up choosing this grey Barbie crop tee. Tee-shirts scream casual, therefore it’s the perfect way to break the classiness of the skirt ! Paired with flat sandals and voilà, a casual look to take a stroll in the city !!

For a more chic and refined look, a light blouse and high heels are the way to go. I really like the mix of turquoise and navy blue that the shirt and skirt create and funny enough, I’ve had this blouse for a few years now and I just bought this super cute two toned purse that magically matches the blouse to perfection !!!! It couldn’t be a better match ! To add some boldness to the look, I opted for a purple shade for my lips. It really complements and makes it ultra chic ! By wearing lipstick, you glamorize your look and make it more special. To stay in the cold palette, I chose my floral heels. Heels create the illusion that your legs are longer which is perfect with midi skirts as they tend to make your legs look shorter than they actually are. If you don’t feel comfortable with midi skirts, simply choose one that has the hem right above the knee. By showing your knees, you add length and you still keep the style !

Hope to see you all wearing midi skirts from now on !! ♥
