Modern retro

Downtown Manhattan is very popular among tourists but it has a lot to offer beyond Wall Street, think about the Sea Port, the Elevated Acre, Stone Street, Battery Park City… I love this area because of its architecture ! Courts, the City Hall, the Manhattan Borough President, Churches, the New York Stock Exchange, One World Trade Center, and so on. A neighborhood definitely worth exploring !

One thing you can’t deny, is that fashion evolves ! What I love the most about our generation, is that we get to play with clothes that once were the only thing you could wear ! We get the chance to mix and match decades, styles, fabrics, patterns, colours and much more. That is true evolution. As I love combining styles and all, I couldn’t have been happier when the 70s made a comeback !! I have to say, I have a soft spot for their suede skirts, flared jeans and earth tones ! To add a modern twist to my look, I paired the flared jeans with a crop top. The mesh sections create a futuristic touch and I simply love how it exposes the shoulders. To keep the look simple and casual, I opted for flat sandals. For the final touch, I decided to have an arm party with my Michael Kors watch with a bangle (which, I don’t know if you remember, but I usually don’t wear any, so it was a real arm party !!) and my beloved double pearl ring.

Don’t forget to visit pleeq.com/julia.fashionista to shop some of my Instagram looks and to get a chance to win a Macbook Air !! The Set the Trend 2015 event ends August 21st.

Also, I recently partnered with Rocksbox to give you the chance to try their jewelry boxes for one month, for free !!! Simply use the promo code julia.fashionistaxoxo when you sign up !!

Wish you all a wonderful weekend !! ♥
