Standing out of the crowd

As much as I love traveling, there is something really stressful with the whole experience !! If you follow me on Instagram (@julia.fashionista), you already know that I am out of town !! I am spending a long weekend in Montreal to visit some old friends !! I find it fascinating how the world has evolved (and still is); in just a few hours (minus the wait at the airport) you can find yourself in a completely new country !! Isn’t it fabulous !?! I experienced a few eventful flights in the past so I was glad that nothing major happened on my way but you know the way it goes, any small issues are BIG ones in your head, especially under stress !!! But I made it safe and sound as I am writing this from my hotel room !! In the next couple of posts, you will discover Montreal as I will take full advantage of this beautiful city !! I will bring you along to my favorite spots !! I hope you enjoy the ride !

In the meantime, let’s focus on this post !

I have a love-hate relationship with the Financial District !!! As much as I love the architecture, the money driven neighborhood is always jam packed with tourists, which makes it really difficult to fully appreciate the beauty of it ! But there’s always an empty corner, perfect for great shots like these !!! I just loved the red carpet and giant doors and couldn’t resist snapping a few shots !!  55 Wall Street is known as being the National City Bank Building and have lots of banking history. It was finally turned into a hotel in the late 90s but after a lack of business after 9/11, the hotel was turned into condominiums.

The jacket featured here will be in a high rotation and please don’t hate me if I do ! It’s such a versatile coat that gives you that effortless touch while still looking extremely elegant ! The silkyish fabric makes it look expensive and the high slits add character !! This blazer looking coat is light weighted but warm enough, you will definitely see a lot of it these next couples of weeks ! It’s the perfect early Fall coat basically !!! I paired it with a simple LBD and belted the waist to give it a shape. As the slits of the coat are high enough, I only belted the front panels and passed the belt under the coat in the back. It adds a little twist and makes it fun. To add a pop of colour, I chose my new Angela Roi bag, which I adore !!! Throw some golden accents, a hat and lace up sandals and you’ve got a preppy hipster look !!! Perfect to stand out in the middle of a tourist group in the heart of downtown !!

Happy Friday loves ! ♥

I love your look! Those sandals are a beauty! Did you actually explore the city in heels?!

:) Thank you Carla !!! I wish I did, but between us, the heels were just for the photos !!! :P As much as I love heels, walking around NYC is better in flats !!!
