Weekly lookbook; part 1

Hi guys !!! I’ve been asked a few times by now, by other blogger friends, how do I get to create so many different looks on a small budget (Yeah .. as much as I wish I could just go shop every day ! I cannot .. ). My answer is quite simple but not that easily achieved. C R E A T I V I T Y ! When I shop, I buy key pieces that are bold and make a statement on their own and pieces that are more simple that I can wear over and over. I mix and match them in all possible ways !! I layer them, wear them on their own, but most importantly, if you are going to wear the same pieces over and over, the key here is Accessories !!! A hat, a statement necklace, a scarf, a funky clutch, killer heels .. even makeup can change the whole look ! I do have to admit that it takes a whole lot of thinking and trial and error to come up with new looks every week !! But I never give up and I hope I do inspire at least a couple of you out there !!!

So in this week’s posts (part one today and to be continued on Friday !), I will show you how to make a weekly lookbook with only 6 items. Brick coloured cropped trousers, wide legged jeans, a little black dress, a long sheer top, a striped crop top and a off-shoulder top. Plus plenty of accessories to complete the looks.

First look; The long sheer top paired with the cropped trousers. I really love how the top covers most of the trousers except for a little opening in the front. It tones down the colourful trousers while still keeping their intensity ! I added a skinny scarf which blends in with the top to perfection and gives it a new look. Pair the look with some lace up sandals to complete the edgy yet delicately feminine look.

Second look; For this second outfit, I played with layers a little. The off-shoulder top over the cropped one for a early Spring vibe. It keeps those shoulders warm plus adds so much character to the off-shoulder by making it stand out ! To make the look a little more fun, I added a DIY fringe belt (I made it out of a skirt !) over the jeans. One thing I truly love about Spring is that we can finally show some skin, aka ankles !!!! There is something I absolutely love about bare ankles !! Not only does it allows to show off your sandals/heels but it also elongates your legs !! It’s a win-win situation, so roll up those bottoms !!!!

Third look; I have to admit that this look is one of my favorite !!! It’s a quite simple one when you think about it, but the bow detail at the waist and the hat add so so much character to the look !!! It brings the whole outfit to life ! I made the bow belt out of a skinny scarf by simply tying it at the waist, which covers more skin as the crop top is quite cropped !!! And what to say about those structured trousers other than I’M IN LOVE !!!! So bold, so edgy yet so chic !!! So me !!!

Three great looks for a great woman!!!
But the second one in particular is just stunning! I love it sooo much indeed in all respects! Your creativity and imagination have really no limits, you really would be a great stylist!!! I really love the combo of the off-shoulder top over the cropped one and the diy fringe belt made out of a skirt!!! OMG!!! Then I fully agree with you to the point that I do it in winter too: I absolutely love to show off my bare ankles too! And moreover it has even been and still is one of the most important fashion trends as well! Just as you say it focuses the attention on shoes, which now are finally very spring, and elongates your legs too!! So I’m totally favourable to roll up my jeans and in some cases (for example when I wear skinnies) with even higher turn-ups than yours!

Mila Mila Mila, You are an angel ! Thank you so much for your kind words ! I wish I could show my ankles in winter too, it just gets a little too cold in NYC for my taste !!! haha Love to know we think the same way ! Sending my love ! XOXO

Why not in winter too? I know you can handle it! Definitely it’s only question of getting used to it and, after all, bare ankles (and feet) are just like to be bare-handed, right? Moreover I’ve been in NYC this winter for NYFW and I always showed off my bare ankles (sometimes my legs too) without problems. I’m pretty sure you will succeed in standing a little cold if you really like to show off your bare ankles and wannabe trendy and cool too!
In the end I wanted to suggest you to wear some nice anklet, just to wear something summery out of season and to highlight and underline your bare ankles! Isn’t it cool?
Btw as you perhaps imagine, I just hate tights! lol
        Looooooove to you!
